Management of the Racing Xtravaganza, an event recently held at the York Expo Center’s Utz Arena, is wasting no time in solidifying show improvements for 2019.
And first on the list is a transition to Friday-Saturday show days instead of Saturday -Sunday.
“We feel the first weekend in February is a good spot for the show,” said show promoter Scott Gobrecht. “Moving to a Friday-Saturday format is a way for us to provide a better experience for attendees, sponsors and vendors. Super Bowl Sunday is tough competition in any market, but especially here in the Northeast with so many sports fans.”
For three years in a row, Gobrecht and his team have been growing the popular event with more driver appearances, averaging well over 100 race cars on display, adding new features like the Driver Cornhole Challenge, and attracting more vendors.
With 2019 dates set for Friday, February 1st thru Saturday, February 2nd and BAPS Auto Paints & Supplies returning as Title Sponsor for the fourth year in a row a bright future is ahead.
The BAPS Cornhole Challenge will again be on the featured event list after proving its success in 2018.
“The Cornhole Challenge was a concept that Dean Berkheimer (Co-Owner BAPS Auto Paints & Supplies) brought to us,” said Gobrecht. “It’s a fun way for drivers to win a BAPS Auto Paints Sponsorship for their race car and was a big attraction to show attendees.”
The Racing Xtravanganza Pageants, driver meet and greets, and seminar sessions will stay on the program, but attendees may notice some changes to them as well.
“We send out surveys to vendors, participants and drivers that display race cars in search of ways to constantly improve,” said Gobrecht. “Our team is dedicated to listening to suggestions and making every area of the show better for 2019.”
Gobrecht continues, “It’s really exciting to work with such amazing people. They are the reason Racing Xtravaganza is so special.”
